- Restorative and strengthening to mucous membranes. therefore helps excess catarrh such as sinusitis, ear infections, nasopharyngeal catarrh. Also soothes dry hypersensitive mucosa e.g. hay fever. Mucilage soothes dry irritating coughs. Indicated for minor haemoptysis (coughing up blood) and irritating dry cough esp, where it feels like something sharp is stuck in there. Vulnerary
- boils, splinters, pus, dirty and infected wounds. good for gravel rash, grazes and stings. Styptic qualities. Urinary system = effective against inflammation e.g. dysuria (pain passing urine) and good for healing after cystitis.
